I started out today with a $25 Target gift card which I got for FREE from Mypoints. If you would like to start, create a JUNK email address. I click through emails sent to me daily, getting 5 points a pop. I save them up and redeem them for gift cards. You can accrue points faster by signing up for the different promos, but I've never done that. I strictly do emails only and have never given out my debit/credit card info.

I wanted to cash in on Target's promo right now: Buy 5 boxes of various Kellogg's products, get a $5 Target gift card at the register.

First trip:

10 boxes of Kellogg's Nutri Grain bars = $25
Used five $1 off 2 coupons = $5
Received $10 in gift cards as my items were scanned
Paid $20 on a gift card

Next, I will send in my receipt for the Kellogg's Calendar Rebate: Get $10 when you buy 10 Kellogg's items.

So I started with a FREE $25 gift card...

I got a coupon for a FREE $25 gift card when I take a new prescription to CVS. I went today and got a script filled. Paid $3.30 on my flex spending account debit card. I then took that $25 gift card and went shopping. I've been wanting to start the deals back at CVS since I live closer to a couple now.

After I handed all these coupons, the register said Rite Aid owed me $.60 some cents. It was a weird thing with my $20 certificate going towards tax, that I had not anticipated. I grabbed an $.88 candybar, which incidentally was on sale for $.50. So I grabbed another.

After tax, I paid $.39 on a Rite Aid gift card earned a few months back on a promo.

I will get the following back in Single Check Rebates from Rite Aid:

I recently started up the Rite Aid Single Check Rebate program again. You can read about it here. One of the most important things to remember about the SCR program is your totals towards the rebates count PRE coupon.

Where do you find so many of the same coupon? Like Cottonelle and Johnson Buddie Bars? I would like to get started but I have only found places that allow 2 prints per coupon. Any advice?

I buy 10 newspapers every week. I get the Detroit Free Press. I rarely print coupons online. I am a trader on Hot Coupon World, with over 200 feedback! I trade away coupons I don't need or won't use in exchange for coupons I want and need!

I think I am truly addicted to buying dog treats. I can't stop myself. I am going to try really hard to not even put dog treat coupons in my binder. I know I shouldn't but them, but as I am putting them in my cart, I tell myself that this is the last time. After my Kmart trip last week, I really should be done buying dog treats for somewhere close to 9 months. That's my guesstimate of how long the treats I have should last. I'm pathetic, lol.

At Meijer tonight I got to talking to the woman in line behind me and my cashier. Both very nice ladies. If either of you made it here to my blog, Hello & Welcome!! :)

The cashier commented on how many people come in and never use coupons at all and pay so much money. Most people won't take the time to learn or figure it out. I told both ladies that there is really no reason not to use coupons at all. The woman behind me told me I should teach a class for extra money. While that sounds nice, I am not that organized! I told the ladies that I have no sympathy for people who complain about not having enough money. Time is money, so use your time wisely and learn how to let manufacturers pay for the stuff you need!! :)

My stockpile of laundry soap. This worked out pretty good since I have used Purex for years. I paid between $1 and $1.50 for each laundry soap. The fabric softener came out to $1.29 after qs at Kmart when they were doing Super Doubles. The laundry soap should last me approximately two years.

Toothbrushes were $.50 after coupon at Kroger. I have another 20 or so in my storage unit. Deoderants were $1.99 at CVS. Used $1/1 coupons and got $1 ECB (extra care bucks) for each one, making them all free after ECBs. These will go in my baggies of personal hygiene items that will be donated this holiday season.
Lysol Neutra Air Freshmatics are normally $11.99. They were on sale for $5.99 and after using $5/1 coupons, I paid $1 for each.
Around 80 packages of cat treats, all FREE after coupon. I have another 20-30 in my storage unit. I don't have a cat, however the Humane Society will surely appreciate these.
Softsoap hand soap, on sale for $1.00 at Kroger. Used $.35/1 coupons, which Kroger doubled to $.70. Paid $.30 for each. I have another twenty or so in my storage unit.
Gillette Shave Gel-Trial sizes were $.99 at Target and used $1/1 coupons to make them free. Large cans were free after coupon and a Target gift card I won from work.

Ziploc baggies are $1.00 at Target for a bag of 25. Used $1/2 coupons and paid a penny a bag. I use these as pooper scoopers for my puppy Chester.

Febreze Air Effects on sale for $2.50 at Wags (Walgreens), buy 4, get $5 RR (Register Rewards). Used $1/1 coupons and they were free after RR. Air Wick was BOGO.
Glade Fabric and Air Odor Eliminator, normally $4.99 at Wags. After manufacturer q and Wags q, I paid $.50 each. I LOVE this stuff and use it all the time on my furniture. I don't like a house that smells like dog.
Pert Plus shampoo was $3.19 at Meijer. EZ pic deal was Buy 2, get $2 off, and I used $2/1 coupons. Paid $.19 each. I have about 25-35 more stored in my storage unit. These will go in my baggies of personal hygiene supplies that will be donated this holiday season.
Clean Team wipes are $1.99 at Meijer, used $3/2 coupons and paid $.50 each.

Johnson's Buddies bars-FREE after coupon

Glade Plugins Scented Gel Warmers $1.79 each. Used BOGO coupons and each warmer prompted a $2 ONYO (on your next order). HUGE moneymaker and my apartment smells super nice! Dial bars of soap were $.25 each, clearanced at Target. These will go in my baggies of personal hygiene items I will donate this holiday season. Duracell batteries clearanced out to $.70. They will get sent to soldiers overseas. AAA batteries are always needed for headlamps.
Schick disposable razors were $.99 each. Bought them at CVS using $2/1 coupons. I bought two packs for each coupon to bring me to $1.98. All these will be donated in my baggies of personal hygiene items I will donate this holiday season.
A bunch of freebies I received in the mail, or got for free at the store after coupon.

I have tons more stuff stored in my storage unit just because I don't have room here in my apartment. I have been couponing for about four months now. I haven't been doing it long enough to have a decent stockpile of some things. But when I find a great deal, I stock up to last me a while.

Some things I didn't post pictures of because they are going to go in to gift baskets for my family for Christmas. I will post pictures of those when the time comes.

Last year at Christmas I donated $200 to EVE, Inc, a women's shelter. However, after starting couponing like I have been, I know I can stretch that $200 further than they would be able to at the shelter. So rather than donate money, I will donate items that I can get for free or really cheap. My project this year is tons of bags of personal hygiene items.

Some people (Rick) have questioned why I would consider donating stuff considering I haven't had a job for four months. I tell him that I don't have a lot of money, HOWEVER I have the knowledge to not only save money, but to get MORE for my money. I don't need help from anyone and I actually take pride in the fact that I am still able to help others despite my current situation. Even without a job, I am still more fortunate than a lot of people out there. Therefore, there is no reason not to help others in need.

Things will only get better from here though, because I just got a job today! :)

Kmart and Super Doubles up to $2

I found out that all Kmarts are running the promotion where they will double any coupon, up to a $2 value. I made my trip and before coupons, my total was $140 ish. Don't remember exactly. After all my coupons doubled, I paid exactly $30.72 for FIFTY items! Woo hoo!!

In case you can't tell, I LOVE my dog. I also have enough fabric softener to last a year minimum, maybe longer. The only thing here I didn't have a coupon for was the Mountain Dew. Rick wanted some so I picked it up for him.

Kmart will get my business again if they do Super Doubles again. What a nice day!

Made my first trial run to a Kroger in Howell that doubles coupons up to $1. I was pleasantly surprised. NO issues whatsoever. Had a very friendly cashier. He asked for all my coupons up front so that he could check expirations and see what frees I had. I think that definitely helped to speed up the process.
